Opportunities including scholarships and subsidised attendance at conferences are made available several times a year. Many of these are provided by APGA, but they are also provided through connected organisation such as the Australian Gas Industry Trust.
Details of any opportunity open to young pipeliners will be available here.
APGA is pleased to announce that the four young people who will travel to the US and Canada, funded by APGA and the Australian Gas Industry Trust, are: Donny Pascale (GPA Engineering), Mieka Webb (SA Department of State Development, Arash Vahdat (Rosen) and James McHugh (WorleyParsons). Travelling – and learning – with this group will be Bradley Davis (University of Wollongong) and Bob Varela (Deakin University) who are being funded by the Energy Pipelines Cooperative Research Centre.
APGA is proud to provide educational opportunities to the young people in the industry, helping to create the experts of the future. This group will attend the major research conference, the Joint Technical Meeting, being held in Colorado Springs, USA, from 1 to 5 May 2017, following which there will be a tour of pipeline and gas facilities of North America.
A report of this opportunity and the learnings of the group will be provided to APGA members.
We thank everyone who applied and encourage those who missed out this time to be alert for new opportunities as they become available via APGA.
