TANAMI PIPELINE

Tanami Pipeline

The Tanami Gas Pipeline is a 440km transmission pipeline in the Northern Territory that transports gas from the Amadeus basin to gas fired power stations at Granites and Dead Bullock Soak, which power the Tanami gold mine in the Tanami desert. It is owned and operated by DBNGP (WA) Nominees Pty Ltd – part of the Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG).

The Tanami is a non-scheme pipeline under Part 23 of the National Gas Rules – but has Category 2 and Category 3 exemptions. It is therefore exempt from information disclosure provisions, and from publishing service usage information, service availability information and financial information. Accordingly, the amount of information on the Tanami provided by APGA’s pipeline information web portal is limited.
