SOUTH EAST PIPELINE SYSTEM

South East Pipeline System

The South East Pipeline System (SEPS) is an 82km pipeline system located in SE South Australia. It consists of two mainline pipelines (Katnook to Snuggery and Glencoe to Mount Gambier) and two lateral pipelines (Katnook to Safries and Kalangadoo to Nangwarry).

The gas transported by SEPS is sourced from the offshore Otway basin gas fields near Port Campbell and the underground gas storage facility at Iona in Southern Victoria. The pipeline was built in 1991 to deliver gas from the Katnook processing plant near Penola in SE South Australia to Snuggery and Mount Gambier. Following a gradual decline in the availability of gas from Katnook, the South East South Australia Pipeline was commissioned in 2005 to supply gas from the SEA Gas pipeline into the SEPS.

SEPS is owned and operated by Epic Energy. It is a non-scheme pipeline under Part 23 of the National Gas Rules.
