APGA Women’s Leadership Development Program 2022
The APGA Women's Leadership Development Program has been developed specifically for women in the energy industry.
Modelled on similar programs around the world, the program is designed to provide women in with the opportunity to network and develop skills that will enable their continued success in the pipeline and gas industries. The program is open to all women employed by members of APGA. We encourage women employed in any capacity to in our industry register for the program. Over the past three years, participants have come from across the pipelines and gas industries: from engineers to executive assistants, commercial analysts to site controllers.
Building on the successes of the five programs held since 2019, the 2022 program will consist of four workshops:two face-to-face and two virtual.
The program will once again be conducted by Gretchen Gagel of Greatness Consulting, who has designed and delivered an equivalent program for the American Gas Association and has been instrumental in establishing this program for APGA.
The content of the program will be discussed and agreed by the participants. Based on previous programs, participants can expect to explore their skills sets and desired learning objectives in areas such as leadership and management, communication, strategising, mentoring and being mentored, personal branding and change management.
Places on the program are limited, so please register as soon as possible.
The planned dates for the program for 2022 are:
First face-to-face workshop: Wednesday 16 March and Thursday 17 March in Adelaide.
Second face-to-face workshop: Wednesday 24 August and Thursday 25 August in Sydney.
Venues will be advised. Dates for the virtual workshops will be advised when available. While the preference is for a mix of face-to-face and virtual workshops, the prevalence of COVID-19 may make it necessary to replace face-to-face events with virtual events or make other changes to the program. The AWLDP has always used virtual events, and these have been extremely successful.
Face-to-face workshops are typically structured to allow morning travel on the start day and afternoon travel on the second day. Each session coincides with an APGA event in the city that participants are encouraged to attend.
The cost for the program in 2022 is $2300 inc GST. Participants must also cover travel and accommodation costs..
The program is open only to APGA members. Companies wishing to send more than three participants should contact APGA via the contacts below. Please ensure that you have internal approval to join the program before registering.
