New revisions of parts of AS 2885 are about to be released. If you are involved in design or operation of pipelines or in safety management studies, for both new and existing pipelines, you should attend this seminar to find out all about the changes.
The AS 2885 suite of Standards defines the technical requirements for pipelines throughout their lifecycle, from design through construction and operation to abandonment. The new Standard gives increased emphasis to making sure that risk is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP). It also introduces new requirements for recognition by Licensees of the potential for high-consequence failures. The seminar will cover all of these topics.
Day 1 of the seminar will focus on the new Part 6 of the Standard which is now where all requirements for safety management studies can be found. While the safety management process is largely unchanged, extensive additional guidance information has been added, including application of safety management to operating pipelines – not explicitly covered in previous editions.
Day 2 takes a close look at AS 2885 Part 1 (Design and Construction). There have been no radical changes, but every section has been reviewed and revised to improve clarity and to incorporate the latest knowledge. The seminar will cover the key topics that have significant revision and those that deserve explanation.
